WEDDING TIARAS
In this post we will start to take a look at Wedding Tiaras. As you can imagine there is lots of choice, plenty of styles, produced in a variety of materials, and priced for everyone.
Lets start by looking at how they are made.
Rhinestone Tiaras are a very popular choice. Rhinestones themselves are also known as paste or diamante which is a diamond simulant. These can be made from either acrylic, glass or rock crystal. The name comes from the region of the Rhineland where the rock crystals were first gathered.
Manufacturers put a coating on the Rhinestone to try to give it a sparkling effect closer to Diamonds. Aurora Borealis is a thin metallic coating applied to the stone to produce an iridescent effect and tends to reflect whatever colour is worn near it.

- Rhinestone Tiara
This silver Rhinestone Tiara has all the look of real Diamonds with all the sparkle. It is a tall design and would match all White outfits for the colour

- Gold Rhinestone Tiara
This Gold Rhinestone Tiara is of a more delicate design. It would not be suited to a to an all white wedding outfit but something with a bit of colour in it, especially gold of course.

This Rhinestone Tiara band is a simple and elegant take on an alice band and a great alternative if you don’t want a larger tiara to wear on the day.

- Rhinestone Tiara band with Pearls
We can see from this slim Silver Rhinestone Tiara band with Pearls that you can go as delicate as you like. Adding the pearls to the Tiara gives it a lift and is a good idea to match maybe your earrings or the theme of your wedding outfit. Wearing a Tiara this small may get lost if you have a large hairstyle.

- Rhinestone Tiara in a Bow
Think about your wedding outfit and the design, if you have a theme or a feature you can sometimes find a Tiara to match. This unusual bow shows us that there is a very wide variety to choose from.

THAT GOLDEN TOUCH
Silver and Rhinestone Tiaras are the most common theme that most brides will go for on their wedding day, if they have a Tiara. Why not, getting married is supposed to be a once in a lifetime event. Some of the tiaras below are absolutely fabulous – who wouldn’t want to wear one. If stored correctly you could see your daughter get married in it – something borrowed! If you go for a subtle tiara you could even wear it out to any formal functions you may attend between your wedding and your daughter’s wedding. Want to be belle of the ball – wear a tiara!
There are of course many styles to choose from and an alternative to the silver and Rhinestone look would be the Golden touch. Now that doesn’t mean you have to wear a Golden Tiara but something that looks like it and give the effect and presence of a Golden jewel.

- Golden Tiara with Rhinestones
We can see from this lattice design with the repeated pattern and the addition of Rhinestones that the Golden look would add some color to the occasion.

- Golden decorated Tiara
This Golden Tiara has been decorated with Swarovski crystals and pearls in a repeated 5 branch pattern. It has to be my personal favourite. Something a bit different from your usual formal style and the light reflecting on the Swarovski crystals will dazzle the wedding guests appropriately – you will definitely stand out from the crowd wearing this. With this mix we can see the Golden Tiara is complimented with the red and cream for a colorful display

- Intricate Golden Tiara
This sunburst pattern Tiara has been inspired by the intricate patterns of French lace with ornate filigree work. Set within the Tiara is a selection of crystals, rhinestones, simulated pearls and white opal crystals all set off against a floral pattern.

- Golden headband
This is a much plainer and simpler Golden headband. Even the simplified design is elegant with its addition of Swarovski Pearls and Crystals. This type of Tiara is ideal for the understated look, and with the right type of high hair style would look stunning.
All of the above Golden Tiaras would suit different people with different face shapes and an assortment of hair styles. It is a good idea to plan well ahead and visit a reputable hairstylist well in advance and discuss what hair style and what Tiara would suit you best. Don’t forget about the coloring and patterning of the wedding dress itself.
All of the Tiaras were on sale recently and all can be purchased for under $100 so you can see that style can be affordable.

SOME HAIR STYLES TO THINK ABOUT ON THE DAY
The hairstyle that never goes out of fashion and would be safe on the wedding day would be the classic French twist, sophisticated and very feminine.
If you have curly or naturally wavy hair then the classic updo hairstyle is best for you, use a curling iron then sweep your locks up and secure them to the top most part of your head.
You can soften your look by going for a modern updo where strands of hair fall from the top to frame your face
You need to add some texture to your hair in order for the Tiara to hold in place.
Try working some mousse or hairspray into damp hair. After blow drying your hair tease the hair at the roots in the crown area to give it the little extra lift then style it,. Place the Tiara at the crown then hold in place with bobby pins that are the same colour as your own hair.

- Katie Price

- Mr and Mrs David Beckham

Victoria Beckham at her wedding in 1999 wasn’t wearing a traditional tiara but a princess crown. I don’t think a Tiara on the wedding day would have suited her hairstyle.
Probably the best advice is to let your hair stylist guide you in choosing what style would be best for you and that would work on the day. They would know the best cut that would work with the shape of your face.
